"Classic" Camera 1999 - Present { 14 images } Created 18 Sep 2020
“Classic” 4”x5” film camera.
This camera was my fourth camera and another experiment into the properties of pinhole photography.
I wanted a pretty, all purpose 4”x5” Camera, so I made the Classic Camera.
I started with the fancy steel on the sides of the camera. I found the steel in a field in Washington State many years ago, and stored it away knowing it would find its way into some project in the future. I machined the body of the camera blocks of 6061 T-6 forged aircraft aluminum. The front aperture plate features a quick change aperture system and the plate can be flipped around to change the camera from 3” focal length to 1” for super mega wide angle shots.
The Classic Camera Project is owned by a collector in Los Angeles, California.
